The ESD Magwell enhances your reloading with a purpose-driven flare. Every curve, every angle, and every feature on the ESD Magwell is intentional and aligns with our mission to enhance a shooter’s capabilities using human-centered design. Featuring symmetrical side cutouts for stripping magazines, the ESD Magwell allows for easy removal of flush-fitting magazines as well as those that have an extension. Additionally, a third cut-out is located on the front of the ESD Magwell. This third cut-out is especially useful in low light/ no light conditions and serves as a reference point for the shooter and allows them to focus on the task at hand rather than worrying about fumbling a magazine during a reload. It can also be used as an additional access point for stripping magazines.
This product currently fits only Glock double-stack Gen 5 pistols chambered in 9mm and .40. Generation 3 and 4 magwells are in development and will be released later. The Glock 19s plug angle is different than the full frame Glocks, so while it can be installed you will sometimes run into an issue where your mags will stick. There are some light modifications that can be made to correct this that have worked for both our customers and for us. The ESD Glock Gen 5 Magwell allows for a greater margin of error when inserting a magazine and eliminates the potential for parallel surface contact by using a combination of wide angles countered by harsh angles. It will even “course correct” the magazine back on track if it is ever inserted at an off-angle. The angles on the outside of the ESD Magwell flow seamlessly with that of your firearm and create a nice shelf for your hand while simultaneously not creating any hot spots.
The ESD Magwell is proudly manufactured with the help of our good friends at Parker Mountain Machine. We want to support American manufacturing as well as our local community at every opportunity, so for us, this partnership was a no-brainer. For us, It’s important to not only source a quality product but also work with a company we trust to maintain strict quality standards at every step of the manufacturing process. The ESD Gen 5 Glock Magwell is made of high-quality 6061-T6 aluminum and includes all the hardware necessary to mount it. The ESD Magwell is currently available for Glock double-stack Gen 5 pistols chambered in 9mm and .40, with support for other handguns coming in the future. Gen 5 Glock 19s plug angle is different from full-frame Gen 5 Glocks. We are developing a Glock 19 Magwell plug and this will be available in the near future for those who want to use the Magwell on 19s with no fitment risk. Glock 19’s can use an ESD Magwell with existing plugs but there is a risk that your mags won’t drop freely depending on the tolerances of your frame and magazines so modification may be required. Glock 19X’s can use ESD Gen 5 Glock Magwells but require modifications to the 19x frame. Edgar Sherman Design LLC is not liable for any modifications made to your handgun. Treat all firearms as if they are loaded and ensure you have properly cleared your firearm before installing the ESD Glock Magwell.

Below is a list of Functional magazine extensions that are known to work with the ESD Magwell. The list below covers what we know to work, we are looking at design changes to accommodate a larger amount of baseplates but timelines for changes are unknown and our prioritization was for Glock OEM baseplates and extensions upon launch.

I just received my ESG magwell and I have to say it is badass!!!!! I have a Grey Ghost Precision Glock 19 Gen 3 build and this magwell fits it! The tight tolerance allows for it to fit just fine with no alterations and no modifications to the build at all! So if you have a custom Grey Ghost glock build it will fit. I can’t promise the same for any other build so buy at your own discretion

The ESD mag well is a welcome edition to the Glock Gen 5 build. The ease of installation is incomparable to the ease of mag loads. The design was extremely well thought out and focused on actual shooter mechanics and getting further left of bang. A well designed and manufactured product, but with some limitations. The design does not allow for a beaver tail extension on my Glock 19 Gen 5. Due to the tight tolerance around the flair of the magwell, it creates a little bit extra tension on a fully loaded mag not allowing it to drop completely free. Though an empty mag will. Maybe this is a bonus. I’ve had no issues with a tac mag change. Still currently in the testing phase. Overall I like the tight tolerances and quality.

Hi Carl, with some small modifications to your back strap on the lower area that secures into the plug space of a Glock frame you can get the full functionality of your back strap with an ESD Magwell!

Great looks, feels good. I thought the side cut outs would cause issues with magazines catching but I’ve had no instance of that yet. Not been to the range but have done quite a few dry fire reloads. I use aerondo mag extensions. That will not work unless you file down the front part of the baseplate. All in all this thing came with nice packaging. I really liked the fact that they include both Allen wrenches with it. Will keep an eye on other ESD products

Love the design but have been having issues with Glock magazines not dropping freely. This has happened with both semi loaded and empty mags. The last 1/3 of the ejected mag ends up stuck.

I love this magwell! I was having some issues with mags not dropping free, but apparently removing the rear screw is a part of the instructions that I missed. Once I did that, all problems gone. Seriously great magwell.

Love the look and function of the magwell with stock baseplates. I’ve ran into issues using extended baseplates such as Odin Works and Arredondo. Both extensions prevent the magazine from fully being seated.

Honestly, I can’t find an angle this thing won’t feed your magazine cleanly. Use it for basic range fun and competition use without issue. It’s hard to convey how high quality it looks as feels, while most magwells with this level of functionality just kind of feel like a hunk of metal by comparison. Took a dremel to the inside to make it work perfectly with Taran extensions, and have had zero issues after thousands of reloads.

I’m just a dude who decides to make a useful Gucci glock and this was a magwell I liked looking at so I ordered it off palmetto state armory (only place in stock at time of purchase) i ended up getting the FDE version but looking at it it more resembles the “clear anodized” pictures then the FDE pictures. The FDE pictures makes it look almost like a light chocolate color but I guess the reality is it looks more like a Anodized gray with a hint of tan. Its not a BIG deal for me since I plan on using my gun so things matching perfectly isn’t going to make me return it but my Gucci glock is turning into another frankengun like they always do cuz nothing ever matches every remotely. 5/5 for what it is. 4/5 for color being so different from picture (even with the anodizing color warning)
