Hockey tape is a great way to get a rock-solid grip on your firearm. When your hands are slick with water, sweat, blood, or tears, the tape will become stickier and provide better control of your firearm, especially under stressful conditions. Another benefit is that it will adhere to wood, polymer, aluminum, or steel and create an insulating barrier from metals in extremely cold environments. Hockey tape is also a good alternative for stippling polymer, as it is a way to add grip and form fit your firearm to your hands without adding any permanent modifications and is easily replaceable when it wears out. For those who cant modify issued rifles or handguns, it’s a non-damaging method that can easily be removed as needed. As an added bonus, when it becomes worn and weathered, it just looks plain cool.
