Gone are the days when a poncho liner will save your light signature with the use of modern night vision being employed on the battlefield. Two poncho liners will kill external light; however, wearing two poncho liners in any humid and hot environment for a prolonged period of time is a heat casualty waiting to happen. Drone operators and SOT-A members use tablets and laptops that emit a lot of light, which could become target indicators in a patrol base or other clandestine hide. The Eclipse minimizes the tablet’s light signature by containing all light pollution within its body, all while giving the user a private view that’s lightweight, breathable, and compact.
The Eclipse is made with a 500D Cordura outside and Black tweave on the interior to block any light emission and maintain durability in any high-wear areas. Featuring an adjustable head harness that can fit with or without a helmet, an adjustable and replaceable nose clip, tablet port, and two hand access points, no light will escape. There is also an internal chemlight holder made of mesh that gives the end user a light source to see their controls. The sides of the Eclipse have reinforcements along the body to keep the material from bunching and blocking the operator’s view while remaining flexible so that the entire product can be rolled up and contained with its head strap using its integrated G-hook. This makes for a compact carrying solution designed to fit inside of combat pants cargo pockets and/or products like dump pouches like our Sap Bucket.
If the Eclipse isn’t in stock here, or this is a MIL/GOV purchase, please email contact@edgarshermandesign.com, and we can set you up with an order. The Eclipse is on a made-to-order production schedule, and all stocked inventory is from contract overruns.
