On July 15 and 16 the Edgar Sherman Design team had the pleasure of attending the Sig Sauer Experience Centers Grand Opening event in Epping, New Hampshire. Over the two days we met with firearms instructors, competitive shooters, professional end users, industry partners, and most importantly our customers. In attendance was Edgar Sherman (Owner/ Industrial Designer) Jared Hillis (Director of Sales) Erik Oeckinghaus (Industrial Designer) and Tom Brooks (Sales- Shipping/ Receiving). This was the first industry event the team went to since the beginning of the year and was a fantastic way for us to meet new people, show off our current and upcoming products, network with other professionals in the industry, and take some time to explain “The Why” behind what we do.
For those of you who weren’t able to make it, here’s a brief overview of some of the products we were able to show off.
The Sap Bucket: The sap bucket is our take at solving all the problems we’ve experienced and observed regarding Dump Pouches. We’ve taken feedback from professional end users as well as our own internal feedback and have come out with a way that helps manage your gear. With a structured top rim for consistent shape, collared retention to prevent gear from unintentionally leaving the bag, and a mesh bottom for drainage, it’s sure to be an invaluable piece of kit. Look forward to a detailed product breakdown and release date in a future newsletter!
Paracord Guides: We love to attach our slings with paracord, but found that the knot had a tendency to fall out of the loop made by the sling which would expose it to the elements. Enter the ESD Paracord Guide. They come in a pair and help you retain all of the benefits of paracord (lightweight, noise reduction, etc) when attaching a sling to a firearm while also securing the knot and preventing exposure. Fun fact, this was the product that generated the most intrigue and excitement over the course of the event and is starting production momentarily. Make sure you stay up to date for media regarding this as we’re looking at naming it similar to how we did the Swivlah through customers ideas, so if you’ve got one, message us on Instagram.
FDE and OD Green Magwells: These are live right now on our website, as well as with our dealers! With the success of our Gen 5 Glock magwell, we asked you, our customers, to choose the next wave of colors. Flat Dark Earth(FDE) and Olive Drab Green(ODG) raced to the top of the list. Look forward to more exciting ESD magwell options in the future including support for gen 3 and 4 Glocks followed by select Sig Sauer models.
