Howies Pro Grip hockey tape is a stickier, tackier version of the standard cloth hockey tape we sell. After testing it out we’ve found it to be an amazing option for handgun grip tape and we’re confident in bringing it to our store. We’ve found that the extra grip it provides is a welcome addition to our pistol grips especially for outside the waistband carrying.

Hockey tape has been used since the 1960s to increase the performance of some of the best athletes in the world. They use it because it’s customizable, provides consistent and quality grip, and when the product gets wet the grip gets better. We realized that these benefits can be applied in more areas than just hockey. Howies Pro Grip hockey tape is the tackiest pistol grip tape you will find that won’t tear up your hands. The Howies Pro Grip tape is a stickier, tackier version of the standard cloth hockey tape we sell and maintains that stickiness dry or wet. After testing it out as our gun grip tape, we’re confident in bringing it to our store. We’ve found that the extra grip it provides is a welcome addition to our toolkit. We typically run the Howies Pro Grip tape in conjunction with the Howies Hockey cloth tape as we recommend taping the edges of your wrap with some of the cloth hockey tape to prevent any potential fraying. If concealed carrying we recommend the Howies Hockey Tape as it will feel better against your body’s skin compared to the stickiness of the pro tape.

Hockey tape is the best gun grip tape as it provides a great way to get a rock-solid grip on your firearm. When your hands are slick with water, sweat, blood, or tears, the Pro Tape will provide a sticky grip and provide better control of your firearm, especially under stressful conditions. Another benefit is that it will adhere to wood, polymer, aluminum, or steel and create an insulating barrier from metals in extremely cold environments. Hockey tape is also a good alternative for stippling polymer, as it is a way to add grip and form fit your firearm to your hands without adding any permanent modifications and is easily replaceable when it wears out. For those who can’t stipple pistol grips or modify issued rifles or handguns, Howies Hockey tape is a non-damaging method that can easily be removed and will provide you with a better grip. As a bonus, when it becomes worn and weathered, it just looks plain cool.

We primarily use it on our firearms as pistol grip tape, but it is also useful for providing traction to anything else you might be holding with slick hands, Trekking poles, fuel cans, axes, hammers, etc. The possibilities are endless!

We have and will continue to only sell products that we use ourselves and have a proven track record as actually effective. No gimmicks, no fake science, just consistent, proven, reliable, and quality products. Howies Hockey tape was our choice of tape as Edgar has used it for years in his hockey career. Howies Hockey tape is made in the USA and is a proven high-quality tape used by professionals worldwide. Stop looking for gun grip tape elsewhere and use tried and true hockey tape.

I’ll start off by saying, I was born and raised in Texas. I’ve never played hockey. So I’m just as new to hockey tape. So, when I received my FIRST roll of Howie’s pro grip tape in the mail I figured it was supposed to be difficult to peel. Extremely difficult. It’s sticky right? After the first hour my Spidey-sense began to tingle. There was fuckery afoot. My delivery person must have keistered my package becuase the tape was basically mashed on to itself. I’ve seen thermite create things more easily separated than that roll of tape. I then spent several more hours carefully and skillfully cutting through the roll trying to find a spot i could separate and begin peeling. Only Einstein himself could make sense of the Newtonian nightmare of molecularly bonded mass. If you find yourself in this situation, this is what helped me: 1)an old priest, 2)a young priest, 3)a knife, 4)a theoretical physicist/access to the MIT physics database, 5)ES customer service email address.

Ol’ Edgie Sherms (I didn’t ask for permission to call him that) himself fixed the problem and sent me a new roll. This stuff is as advertised. I went with E-money’s recommendation of sealing the edges of the pro grip with the other hockey tape. The “Tack Factor” is at an 11 my guy. Wet or dry it doesn’t matter because your boy’s got that kung-fu grip. Do yourself a favor: get the tape try it out. Don’t waste your time stippling (wears out, if they don’t know what they’re doing your gun is ruined, etc.) or any other shenanigans people do for grip. The tape is great! Ed Master Flash and the crew are awesome to work with. You get a black mass of “tape” they’ll make it right.
